How to Install WordPress plugins?

What are WordPress plugins and how to install them?

How can you speed up your website?

Fast websites give better results for both visitors and  Google. To get the benefits of both, you should prioritize the speed of your website.

As the average speed of internet connections around the world increases and the use of mobile phones increases, internet users are becoming less and less tolerant of slow loading times.

53% of mobile users abandon websites that take more than three seconds to load, and nearly 10% abandon them after just two seconds. Indeed, every second is important.

Google also revealed that page speed is a factor in ranking in search results.

1. Optimize the image.

Every time someone visits a page on your website, that browser needs to load all parts of the page.

On many websites, images take up the most space on the page and therefore take the longest to load.

One of the easiest and most effective ways to speed up your website is to optimize your images.

This quick two-step image optimization process can speed up your website considerably.

Step 1: Resize your images before uploading them. If you use a content management system (CMS) such as WordPress or Joomla, you`ve probably noticed that you can upload full-size images, then adjust the display size in your website`s backend.

This is useful, but you may not know that you want your web browser to execute multiple commands each time the page loads. You need to extract the original image and then resize it. This slows down your website.

To avoid this, use an image editor to resize the image before posting it to the web.

Most of us have access to simple applications such as Preview (for Mac) and Microsoft Paint (for Windows).

With these programs, all you have to do is open the image and resize it with your favorite editing program.

Step 2: Compress the image. After making these adjustments, you can use the compression tool to move on to the next step.

Even after adjusting the image size, the total size of the file can be very large and the website can load slowly.

One of the best image compression tools out there is ImageResize. Simply click the link and upload the resized image and the tool will reduce the file size without reducing the resolution.

Then upload the photo and publish it on the internet. The images look the same, but they load much faster.

 2. Clean up the plugin.

With so many plugins and scripts available for free, website owners can add more than they really need.

Keep in mind that each added plugin requires resources to run, and the more resources you have, the slower your website will be.

If your website runs slowly, or if you think your website runs efficiently,  try the plugin.

Scroll through the list to find plugins that you aren't using or that don't seem to improve your site's performance. Get rid of them.

If you still think your site isn't loading as expected, test it to find the cause. Disable all plugins on your website one at a time.

If you have disabled the plugin, run the site using a tool such as GT Metrix and check the speed of the site after removing the plugin.

If your website speeds up after disabling certain plugins, you've found an issue. If this plugin provides the functionality you need, you can experiment until you find another plugin that provides the same functionality without slowing down your site.

To work around this issue in the future, ask yourself if the feature is worth sacrificing the speed of your site before adding a new plugin.
